Who We Are

Terramar Software is a boutique software studio based in Southern California. We design and build native macOS applications with a focus on simplicity, performance, and thoughtful design.

Founded with the conviction that software should serve its users — not the other way around — we create tools that work locally, launch instantly, and stay out of your way. We believe the best software is software you barely notice, because it simply works.

Our name comes from the earth and the sea — a reflection of our roots in Southern California and our commitment to building things that endure.

Design Principles

Every decision we make is guided by a set of core principles. These aren't marketing language — they're the standards we hold ourselves to.

Local-First

Your data belongs to you. Our applications run entirely on your machine, with no cloud dependencies, no accounts required, and no telemetry. You maintain full control of your files at all times.

Native Performance

We build with Swift, SwiftUI, and Apple's native frameworks. Our applications launch in under a second, use minimal memory, and take full advantage of macOS.

Purposeful Design

We design for focus. Every feature earns its place, and every interface element serves a purpose. We favor clarity over cleverness and substance over visual noise.

Craftsmanship
